In alignment with the broader mission of Great Hearts Louisiana, Great Hearts Harveston Athletics exists to cultivate the hearts and minds of student-athletes through the beauty of competition. Each sports program aims to foster a community of young men and women committed to moral, intellectual, and physical excellence. Through participation in athletics, students have the opportunity to develop virtues such as prudence, justice, temperance, courage, and charity, ultimately finding joy in the goodness of sportsmanship and play.
Upcoming Tryouts
We are excited to kick off the season for Cross Country and Flag Football. Please read below for important dates, times, and requirements.
Cross Country Tryouts
- Eligibility: Boys and Girls in Grades 4–9th
- Date: Monday, August 18
- Time: 3:45–5:00 PM
- Location: Meet in the gym at 3:45 PM
Flag Football Tryouts
- Eligibility: Boys in Grades 4–9th
- Date:

- 4th, 5th and 6th Grade: Monday, August 25
- 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade: Tuesday, August 26
- Time: 3:45–5:15 PM
- Location: Meet in the gym at 3:45 PM
What to bring to tryouts:
- Change of clothes and running shoes
- Water bottle
- Positive attitude
Required to participate:
- Current physical and Athletic Participation Form prior to tryouts
- If these forms are not submitted beforehand, your scholar will not be able to try out.
❗ Important Note for 9th Grade Scholars ❗
Ninth graders are eligible to try out for both Cross Country and Flag Football; however, due to East Baton Rouge High School League regulations, they will not be eligible to participate in official league games. We still encourage 9th graders to try out, train, and be part of the team experience.
